I survived Spring Break, and am so happy to be seeing some sunshine again! Some days I feel as though I am solar-powered….
Now just to get back into a routine.
*sigh*
I feel like I spend more time “getting back on track” than I actually spend on the track, let alone traveling along it.
Nevertheless things are in motion, whether I will them to be or not. I am working on 2 more commissioned art pieces (which are still very much in progress) and have taken on a free-lance design job. That has been the focus of the last few days. For those of you who may not know, I once had grand aspirations of going to an outrageously priced art school to become a big-shot graphic designer. Well, as things most always turn out to favor the practical and/or unexpected, I ended up going to a moderately overpriced university to become a reliably paid graphic designer, and ended up dropping out with 3 semesters to go so I could get married and have a baby (not necessarily in that order). Long story short, it’s nice to know that those loans I’m still paying on weren’t entirely for naught.
The company I am doing the business design for is called Integrity Social Services, and it is run by a wonderfully passionate social worker who is dedicated to ensuring proper care and guardianship for older adults with mental illness and disabilities, who are especially vulnerable and who may not always have family to help them. As she puts it- “Balancing the Scales of Justice with Compassionate Service.”
Here is the logo I came up with. It will be used on her brochure, business cards, and website that I am designing.
Be sure to check back soon, there will be some sneak peeks at the other big projects I am working on!
